Fort Mayers, FL Police Union Demands Budget Increases, Includes Carpet Cleaning for K-9 Units

In the editorial Lee County sheriff Mike Scott states that on the union's list of demands, right after pay increases for officers (below the rank of Sgt.), is carpet cleaning and pest control in the homes of officers who have K-9 units.

Murdered Carpet Cleaner In Hawthorne CA Identified

http://www.dailybreeze.com reports that Shedrick Taylor, 51, of Marina del Rey was found dead in his office at Hawthorne's Awesome Dry Carpet Cleaning.

Detectives are currently investigating potential connections to Narcotics and whether he was robbed or his office burglarized at the time of the slaying.

The daily breeze quotes Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. John Corina, saying "The victim may have been involved in other things besides carpet cleaning."

Recent Downpours in Lubbock Have Lead to Carpet Cleaners Being Flooded With Work

Local Carpet cleaners, such as Lubbock Steamer, who double as an emergency water removal service, were working double-duty during the recovery.

The recovery efforts have even lead to the business having to postpone residential carpet cleaning services to allow for emergency water removal for folks in need.



Carpet Cleaning Imposters Scamming Senior Citizens in Vancouver

http://www.timescolonist.com reports that a group of men posing as carpet cleaners have been relieving the citizens of several Vancouver Island communities of their valuables.

91 year old Vancouver resident Mary Dunlop told the timescolonist, that after accepting a door-to-door offer from a representative of Vancouver's "Country Carpet Cleaners", she noticed that nearly $300 in collectible coins had been stolen.

Vancouver police have received several similar reports regarding the same cleaners, and one carpet cleaning company is currently under investigation.
